What is the Sports Premium?
PE and school sport is very important to us all at Applebee Wood and we pride ourselves on promoting physical activity by offering a wide range of experiences within PE lessons, during lunchtimes, after school and extra-curricular activities. Every Primary school in the country has received additional funding from the government for sport and physical education in this academic year. Within school we have an action plan outlining how we wish to use the money.
PE Sports Premium 2025
The PE and Sport Premium is a ring-fenced government grant provided to UK primary schools to improve the quality of their PE, physical activity, and sports provision.
A PE and Sport Premium Strategy is the document (and plan) a school must produce to show how they are spending this money effectively. It cannot just be "spent"; it must be used to create sustainable improvements that leave a legacy for future pupils.
