Attendance at Applebee Wood School
At Applebee Wood School, we know that regular attendance is key to helping every child succeed. Our aim is for all pupils to attend as often as possible so they can fully access learning, make progress, and develop the skills they need for adulthood. We understand that some of our pupils have complex needs or medical conditions, and we are committed to working flexibly with families to ensure children can continue their education, whether in school or through alternative provision when needed. Our whole school community plays a role in promoting attendance. We work closely with families to offer early support where attendance becomes a concern, and we take a supportive, partnership-based approach to help pupils attend regularly and confidently.
Attendance leads
Mr Blundell (Senior Assistant Headteacher) and Mrs Beaghan (Pastoral Manager) are available to support parents and carers with any attendance concerns. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you feel you need any support with your child's attendance.
We expect parents and carers to:
- Ensure their child attends school every day where possible.
- Notify school of any absence using Studybugs on the first day.
- Work with us to address any attendance concerns
Good attendance supports not only your child’s learning but also their wellbeing, friendships and sense of belonging. Together, we can ensure every pupil gets the most from their time at Applebee Wood.
